AutoEdges

27 votes

Script looping through selected objects of your scene to hide unwanted edges in editable meshes (typically the middle triangles of surfaces).

This script was created to improve the visibility of models imported from Revit into 3ds Max via the FBX file format.

MultiMultiScatter

tiny script to toggle the Enabled state, or Display type of Selected or all scene Multiscatters

(Yea, frank put 30some multiscatter objects in the scene and it was unusable enough that it was faster to write a script, upload it here, and run it, than it was to disable them one by one.)

Just incase anyone else runs into a similar problem.

Cheers,
Dave.

Display As Box

5 votes

This is a very small, but useful script for 3ds Max. It can increase the performance of the viewport by showing all objects in the scene as a box, except the selected objects. So you can see the selected objects normally and you can work on it.

showNodeLabels

40 votes

Example for viewport labelsThis macroscript allows you to turn on text labels for specific scene nodes, so you can permanently see the node names in the viewport, even if they currently are not selected. This is for the viewport only (the labels will not render) and the label will follow the bounding box of your nodes, whether you animate them, or change their geometry in any other way.
