Found this nice little free 'unbiased' renderer a week ago named Indigo. Real fun to play around with and as such I scripted up a 3dsmax interface for it. Give it a shot in case youre bored ;)

infoOverlay UI screenshotUpdated to v0.9 - This Render Effect displays additional information such as frame number - file name - render time etc. as overlay onto your rendered image. Useful for previews - previzualisation and other non-final renderings - should work with any 3dsmax-compliant renderer. All parameters animatable. 

Insert Logo

Script will insert an image (for example logo) into rendered image. Usefull - when for some reason - it can't be done later in post production.

Interlace

"This script is based on Borislav Petrov's TVfields. I've rewritten the code - so it should run a bit faster. I've also added interlace color picker and mix amount slider. Interlace line doesn't have to be always black. I think that best results are with interlace color set to black and mix amount to ~30%.

Renders the selected objects with 'overlapped' isowires. Object must be a unsmoothed base mesh with or without modifers. Changes nothing in the scene (undoes the temp changes)

"This script launches a tool that monitors the backburner.log for network rendering failures and completions and launches a user specified program.
A popular addition would be to write a .bat file and then have it launch the .bat file to execute multiple commands such as netsend - play a sound - etc. . .
