A simple script to remove the raytrace maps (Actually - replace them with empty bitmaps) from the scene's material library. This is for people using Vray/Mental ray as raytrace maps may (and will) slow down rendering times considerably

a Scanline or VRay, Brazil and Mental Ray Material. Named layers are converted to bitmapfiles
and assigned to their respective material slots.

This script was created upon request as a vray frame stamp replacement, intended for mental ray and scanline rendrers.

It allows custom information to be displayed in the rendered image, with user defined font size, style, colors and opacity of the strip background. In addition to predefined keywords, there are five custom expressions and one script value. Original render frame buffer can either be closed or kept open. The settings and callbacks are saved in the .max files.

Render Region

Render Region – 3DS MAX scripted RenderEffect. Some of renderers such as Arnold or Mental Ray after render finished clear outside area, so you lose previous rendered  parts of image in VFB. Render Region restores cleared area of last rendered image.

*Allows you to solve this bug .
*Also allows you avoid Biped & Render Preset bug which returned since max 9 sp1 which was fixed. ( Using Render Presets on a file where a biped was present and motion mixer contains clips would result in a corrupt file when saved. (max 2011 x64 sp1) )

The script switches any texture file to use a Mental Ray .MAP file instead, but only during rendering. This seems to help with big texture memory consumption.

Since 3ds MAX does not support Mental Ray .MAP, the script temporarily changes the file name to the .MAP file only during rendering and then change it back when rendering is ready.
