In this 3DS Max tutorial, we will see how we can control the rotation of a texture using a Dummy helper and the powerful tool called Wire Parameters.
We will do that by binding the Z rotation of the UVW Map's gizmo to the Z rotation of the Dummy. We will also see how we can create a parametric relation between two animated textures by binding the two textures to the same Dummy and using a simple expression to alter the speed and angle of rotation for one of the textures relative to the speed and angle of rotation of the other one. Finally, we will see how we can achieve the same thing in case there is no UVW Map(or another mapping method), if the object is collapsed, by binding the U offset parameter of the Bitmap to the Z rotation of the Dummy.
