Auto Object ID

A script I modified to automatically create Object ID for all the objects selected in the scene. It has Vray friendly option now.

VrayExposureTool

17 votes

A tool for tuning the color mapping in V-ray. The script renders only once. After that it works like post effect so you have interactive update of the scene without need to render again. Works ONLY with linear color mapping, exponential and reinhard (not 100% correct)

1.43 Update:

  • Added "render" button, the script won't render at startup
  • Added option "show vfb"
  • Added option "Optimize render"

Virtual GI v.0.3b

16 votes

This is the version 0.3b of the Virtual Global Illumination (VGI) script, and allows to simulate the Global Illumination outside.
Simply, a light sphere is created about to an object selected to simulate the bounce of the ray in the object.
VGI is very useful to preview some short animations in "Virtual GI" using not only the render Scanline but Mental Ray engine with very short times for the rendering! Optimum to illuminate integer scenes outdoor with a hot and suffused light.

cubicVR is everything you need to create cubic QTVR files - as seen below - from 3ds max.

rdg::graphPaper

A procedural graph paper texture. The essential part of this material
are both Gradient Ramps (horizontal and vertical) that define tiling
and line management. Colors are defined by the top mix or output map
(depending on material version).

Netrender Low Priority

14 votes

When network rendering - 3DSMax defaults to 'normal' priority unless you set it otherwise. This script tells max to run in low priority (so that the system doesn't completely lockup) but ONLY when network rendering. If Max is launched normally by a user - it wont be affected.

FreeSceneBitmaps

A Macroscript that just executes the FreeSceneBitmaps() function in MAXScript. Very useful for freeing up memory after a render.

This script will crop the top and bottom of your image to give you a letterbox effect.

BIGRender

14 votes

Have you ever tryed to render a huge image (more than 3000x3000) ???

The result is unpredictible - most of time the computer crashes because of the amount of memory needed to store the resulting image.

Whith this plugin you can render 'infinite-sized' pictures - because you can divide the render into small pieces - and then join it with any graphics app (i.e. Photoshop).

VolumePreview

"VolumePreview generates a preview of environment effects in the viewport including volumetrics - lens effects and shadows. It requires a camera view to generate a preview. After generating the preview data - the viewport displays the volumetric effects - shadows and lens flares in realtime.
