FilepathFinder - is a most advanced tool for working with asset files in 3ds Max.
With FilepathFinder you can easy find, collect and work with asset files.
Utility supports XRefs of all types and processes all XRefs scenes linked to current.
Unlike all other such scripts, it really finds all resources (images, HDR-images, Proxy, IES-files, shaders).
FilePathFinder helps you quickly select objects in your scene or find the necessary materials and textures and place them in the Materials Editor.
Also with this tool you can easily archive the 3ds Max scene.

Relink Bitmaps

2.10 Changelog:

  • Added support for FStorm Render - Bitmaps/Lights/Proxies, thanks to Nikita Gushchin!
  • Fixed the "$directory not recognized" error
  • [NEW] Option to automatically search the Max scene directory

2.09 Changelog:

  • CoronaBitmap / CoronaProxy / CoronaLight support added (this didn't get added to 2.08 even though I meant it to).
  • Changed the functionality of the read-only browse (because I didn't like how I did it last verison)
  • Fixed the stupid error with the "RemindMe=" bug that users experienced when they pressed "Remind Me in a week"
  • Octane render is still impossible for me to support at the moment, they handled filenames strangely.  Contact them if you want support added, my forum name on their forums is colinsenner.

2.08 Changelog:

  • Corona Render fully supported
  • Browse buttons are Read-only share friendly
  • Attempted to support Octane Render, but the way they are exposing their custom map types like Image_Texture are not in line with any other plugin I’ve seen, if you want Octane support, it’d be best to contact them on their forums or email directly to help me resolve the issue, they were unhelpful when I attempted to contact them to resolve this.  My forum name on Octane forums is colinsenner.

2.07 Changelog:

  • Point Cache files are now supported
  • Fixed ‘directory not recognized: $’ error
  • Long overdue change to the way missing bitmaps are displayed, they are now displayed filename first, as requested by 100s of you.  Sorry this took so long.

Relink Bitmaps is a script to easily relink all missing files (Bitmaps, VRayMeshes, Mental Ray Proxies, VRayHDRI, IES, etc) when they change directories or when you move computers, check out the short video tutorial below for more detailed information.

Unlike some other scripts of its kind, this is free!  There is a small donation link within the script if you choose to donate, I will remove the nag.  It is a simple licensing system, that does not force you to transfer network cards or be connected to the internet and will work with all versions of Max that are supported by the script.  If you choose to donate I'll be more than happy to license multiple computers as well.

mrProxy Generator v1.0

mrProxy Generator v1.0 is a helpful script for creating multiple proxies of selected objects. It automatically names the output files from the selection and can also replace your geometry. The script is free of charge and available for download.
Works with versions 9.x and above. There’s also a video tutorial describing the usage of the script on youtube.

Camera resolution tool

Frankly the default 3dsMax render settings bug me. They don't deal with modern cameras. The proxy settings are hard coded and can't be changed. There's no easy way to create over-scanned frame without a calculator. So I've written my own tool to fix these problems.

Tweak Camera Dialog

There several rollouts in this tool, each dealing with a separate task.

Proxif - Vray proxy "fixer"

1 vote

This is very simple script I did for "fixing" proxies in 3ds max 2014 and up.
When working with a lot of proxies in 3ds Max 2014, viewport gets very very buggy. The problem is when "preview from file" in VRayProxys display option is checked. So this script finds all the proxies in the scene and changes then to "preview from file (faces)" which seems to fix this viewport problem!
Script will not make any changes if some proxies are grouped.

Harry's Proxy Creator

This script is very similar to a script Jason Schleifer wrote from Maya, it allows you to split a predefined object into several segments based on the transforms of special cutter objects, these segments can then be linked back into a skeleton hierarchy. The advantage of displaying segmented geometry in the viewport rather than the skinned mesh is that you get faster playback speeds.

When you evaluate this script it create a new "Category" in the "Customize User Interface" window called "Harry's Proxy Creator" where you'll find the tool

Brings in the geometry mesh of the VRay Proxy at the same position and with the same hierarchy as the proxy container.

For each object in your selection a proOptimzer modifier will be applied and calculated to the percentage you specify.

Once applied and you can update the spinner in the UI and see your objects update in real-time.
