FFX-Render-Manager

9 votes

Big scale effects require usually more than one FFX. Having a lot of FFX and holdout objects asks for a lot of memory. Limited memory means rendering in passes. Different lights and shaders per pass multiply the renderpasses again.

To setup a render, it takes some steps and usually you forget one and need to resubmit. That's why I wrote this script, that overviews everything and gives the ability to set it up fast.

I avoided using .NET intentionally, because in big scenes it sometimes takes a long time just to open a scripted tool.

Vray Quick Render

21 votes

A very compact dialog with a few additional presets for the Vray renderer.

When opened it will save a temporary preset of your current render dialog values. From now on you can adjust whatever you wish without worry of screwing up your production render settings.

Categories: Irradiance Map, QMC Sampler, Glossy, Reflection, AA, and RenderSize

each has a small array of progressively lower quality higher speed settings that you can throw in for quick test rendering.

infoOverlay

infoOverlay UI screenshotUpdated to v0.9 - This Render Effect displays additional information such as frame number - file name - render time etc. as overlay onto your rendered image. Useful for previews - previzualisation and other non-final renderings - should work with any 3dsmax-compliant renderer. All parameters animatable.

QTO (Quick Tools Object) v.0.1

This simple script, allows to accelerate the workflow in 3DSMax.
It assembles the normals tools of Selection, cloning, Hide, Freeze, Color, Rendering and Convert object in an only window allowing a fast search. Very useful for all the uses.

MPManager (Matte Pass Manager)

This script creates Matte Passes by layers, and works with xrefs!

VRay Batch Render

VRay Batch Render is a fully automated batch rendering tool for V-Ray(3dsmax,architectural rendering).

Virtual GI

This little script, allows to simulate the Global Illumination outside.
Simply, a light sphere is created about to an object selected to simulate the bounce of the ray in the object.
Used for a little job, it was very useful to preview some short animations in "Virtual GI" using the render Scanline engine with very short times for the rendering! Optimum to illuminate integer scenes outdoor with a hot and suffused light.

Delete Bad Frames on Backburner

12 votes

This script allows you to delete bad frames that were rendered by a given
node on backburner. This happens if the render farm is heterogeneous
(= different software or hardware configuration on the render nodes). Instead
of manually deleting the frames, it will delete all frames that were rendered
by a certain machine for a certain job. To find out which frames need to be
deleted it connects to the manager and fetches information about every
rendered frame. If the frame was rendered by the machine that has the name

Imap Control

Imap Control alows you to save a series of Irradiance maps per frame with V-Ray® and then allows you to reuse those maps per frame - It also is useful to save incremental maps when creating Incremental add maps - saving progress incase of a crash.

NOTE: 12/10/04 Fixed error message generated from incorrect .mzp file...

This is a free Renderman exporter for 3DSMax. It enables you to render your scenes using any Renderman complient renderer. For now - it doesn't do very much. It is after all a first alpha version - but it is usable to some extent. It exports you camera - lights and geometry (currenty - all geometry is exported using either polygons or subdivision meshes.) It does not export particles - though I would like to add them at some point. A lot of max attributes are not supported yet.
