Copies horizontal position of the biped onto the root object and links the biped to the root.

Two useful uses for this script:

  1. Use it to create a root for your biped (using the Static Root option) - so you can place your biped with animation anywhere in the scene without adding extra keyframes. Simply move the root instead of the biped itself.
  2. Some game engines require a moving root to calculate biped's position in the game environment space. With a moving root the biped itself actually stays in place and only the root moves.

FinalRender Pass Manager

I had  just started to learn maxscript two weeks ago and

I wanted a tool to Help in creating FinalRender renderelements fast.

 

This script creates Finalrender renderelements and put the selected objects in the include list of the renderelement with
proper names and make selection sets also it
creates lighting renderelements if the selection is lights and put the
lights in the include list of the light renderelements
for every selection set.

Isolate by Layer

Simple script that will check the layers of your current selection and call the isolate command on just those layers.

 

-- Small update, If you are only isolating 1 layer, it will make that layer the 'Current' layer.

This MAXScript was coded to add some easy to use and quite needed layer management tools.

3DS MAX lacks some very simple to program commands that will allow the user to work much quicker than by using the layer manager.

Layers for gMax

This is for gMax. It won't work right in 3ds, and 3ds already has layers capability.

This is a macroscript which opens a dialog window. Assign it a hotkey (I suggest Alt-L) and/or a menu item (I suggest Tools), toolbar button, or whatever you like. It lets you affect selection, transparency, visability, and freezing of groups of objects.
