A bridge from 3ds max to instant meshes. Without leaving max interface, it exports, remeshes and imports the remeshed object back based on the parameters in the dialog.

instant meshes bridge

Additional Info:

Installation: It can be run from any location (Maxscript -> Run Script...). If you want to put it in toolbar, menu or quadmenu, you can create a macroscript for it using Macroscript Creator. At first run, the script will ask for a location of your instant meshes executable - this will only happen once, provided that you don't reinstall max/remove the executable from the path.

Doesn't work

It can't export and import an object. Temp folder is empty. 3dsmax 2012 win10.

UPD: same PC , 3dsmax 2015 - script works fine.

yeah think so...but it didn't jog my mem straight away when

i saw this...

now you've probably seen my MCG Arches...that has its limits with the QuadrifyMesh so I was hoping this would provide a way to get out of a tight spot...even tho right now as it has to export/import...but still...if it's better than QuadrifyMesh...it's worth it...

Thanks very much.

Good idea, I've included it in the updated script - is it okay with you? And do you want to be credited as 'fajar' only?

Sort of, just standalone and easily controllable via commandline. For more complex models, you'd still want to use the UI but sometimes when you just want to have an approximate mesh fast which is where this script comes in handy. Have you seen the presentation video?

Damn i've been looking around

Damn i've been looking around for something like this, could you share the exe files or where to download it without compiling it first?

Thanks

---edit

I've got it now.....

i've modified a little of your script to be able to locate where "instant meshes.exe" is.

Thanks
