3ds Max | MCG

Angle Controller

1 vote

A simple MCG controller to allow the user to put in angle numbers without having to convert them to radians first or using a script controller.

Installation: Google how to install an MCG file if you don't know.

Compatible 3dsmax 2016 EXT 1 +

Cloner 2D

Two dimensional clone modifier with random position offsets, random local rotations and random MaterialIDs.

Use to create tiles of any sort.

Known bugs:

- Local rotations and random rotations don`t work together very well

Release info:

- 1.0

Now you can define what angle to use for snapping in random rotation.

All features work in both dimentions.

MCG Body Snatcher

Need a hand ? Call the Body Snatchers... How about a head, arm...or leg...yeah you can model them from scratch...or just use these...

Installation:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudH...

Then can be found in Create>Geo>Vu

No need to call the police, all body parts come from MakeHuman

MCG StopMotion

5 votes

This MCG takes any vertex animated object and turns it into StopMotion/Claymation. You can also use it on non-vertex animated, ie. Transformed object.

Update note: Because it is based on Vertex animated objects, please use Skin and not Link, ie. if you transform a 'bone' object across the screen, then create your hero and Skin it to the bone object, not Link, then put StopMotion on your hero.

MCG MorphToUV

This MCG will morph your geometry to UV, much like in ZBrush. Please note this is a morpher not an unwrapper. You'll notice in the video that after I applied the mcg, the geo appears faceted. This is the 'ways' of MCGs, it breaks up the verts/normals. I didn't put an mcg Weld in there coz it's a bit slow and crash prone with high res geos. A Welder modifier is also slow. So the best solution I've found is to simply add an Edit Poly on top, select all verts and weld with a very small threshold, say 0.01, then also set your smooth groups here.

Then can be found in modifier dropdown list.

Modifier can be instanced to control multi objects at once.

MCG Wave Slates

This MCG creates panels/slates based on sine wave.

Then can be found in Create>Geometry>Vu

MCG Muscle

5 votes

I'm calling this Muscle deform because that's what I set out to use it for but it can deform one mesh with another. Requires a vertex colour modifier underneath this modifier to enable it. The Bool is to determine if the deform happens with Red colour vert or green colour vert's.

MCG FFS

Installation: Scripting, Install Max Creation Graph...

Max2017 should work straightaway, for max2016 ensure you have SP3 properly applied then Extension2 (maybe 1 would work too...can't be sure)

FFS...Floor Flux Sake !!! I empower you to take the Red pill or Blue pill....go into the graph and choose your destiny on the far right...Fastest compile time could be a second (Blue pills) or slowest (Red pills), with all functionalities, up to 15 secs !!! But once you've compiled the graph, it should be pretty quick.
