Viewport mode toggler - Wire/Face/Smooth

7 votes

Got a need for something like this when I was modeling something mechanical and the embedded 'smooth' in the meshsmooth modifier were bugging me since it made it hard to see the proper flow of the faces. This script is a little 'hack' to using the standard viewport mode shortcuts - and I personally have it mapped to the F3 key instead of the default.

SetDefaultMaterial

"

  • Takes the material in MEdit slot #1 and makes it the default MeditMaterial on MAX startup.
  • Replaces all 24 materials in the MEDIT.MAT library.
  • Creates an incremental backup copy of the MEDIT.MAT so nothing is deleted.
  • Flat Colors

Locally flattens curve which removes smooth gradients and gives image kind of cartoony look.

    pX Camera Zoom Extents

    4 votes

The definitive "Zoom Extents selected" that supports 3ds Max cameras. If the active viewport is not a camera it calls the default "Zoom Extents..." Max action ... So you can replace the default keyboard shortcut (Z) with this macro! When Zoom extending with Camera, it only takes into account GeometryClass objects. Ignore anything else, like other cameras and lights. It keeps the FOV and rotation fixed, only moves camera position in space to fit them all.

    SteelSeries Alerts

I have a Rival 500 mouse with tactile alerts so I made this little helper struct to send events to it right from max. After running the script, you can now call ::SteelSeriesAlerts.sendBuzz().

    Clay Mode Advanced

    -1 vote

Clay Mode Advanced is a 3ds Max script that allows users to mimic the viewport shading seen in popular modeling applications like ZBrush and Mudboxx. This script makes a ShaderFX shader with matcap uv on the fly and assign the material as override material and turn on Rendering Setting mode. It is designed as a toggle mode.

    .: Compatible with 3dsMax 2018 & higher

    .: Comes with 30 matcaps

.: Users can easily use their own matcaps in the Matcaps textures folder
