This free scripted modifier for 3ds Max 2016 SP2+ will weld the mapping verts of the desired channel. Useful if you need to have the map verts map one-to-one with the mesh vertices (instead of a map vertex per face corner). Can be slow on high-poly meshes.

Similar to SnapShot tool but it generates Editable Polygon object ( Default snapshot only generates Edit mesh Object). It supports range value to take a snap of animated object in to editable polygon
