The Best

ZebNet,

I forgot to say. The teapot geometry render example thing is great. Out of all on the market your design the best. What do call the that thing?

win7 64bit install with out vray

win7 64bit install:
Unzipp the ct-materialmanager-v1.0.zip:

- Open folder ct-materialmanager-v1.0
"CT" - Put folder "CT" into your Scripts folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010\Scripts

usericons - Open folder "usericons" and copy file to your C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010\ui\Icons folder

usermacros - Open "usermacros" and copy file "Material Manager.mcr" to your C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2010 - 64bit\enu\UI\usermacros\

Open max click on Customize -> Custommize User Interface... -> Toolbars -> Category -> CT Tools -> Material Manager -> Drag to location you want.

- click on Material Manager Icon to run.

- Next go back and delete everything you just did because you don't have Vray, DOH!
This would've worked but it was looking for the vray dll's.

Please include vray in requirements, thanks

custom thumbnails

hi,

last comment has been a while, so i hope i still get an answer...:

is it possible to use custom thumbnails for the preview (like the ones supplied with materials from vray-materials.de) and if so, how do you do that?

I think it is something to do

I think it is something to do with the max install that we have here at work.
The script generates this error

-- Type error: images bitmap requires BitMap, got: undefined

The script hangs at

img_btn.images = #(g_thumb_files[a],"$scripts/CT/material_manager/black.bmp", 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)

I dont maxscript but after a quick look at the help file for maxscript I entered $maxscript into the listener and it returned undefined which is why the script hangs, it bono'd out, cant find what its looking for.
Not sure why all the computers at work return $maxscript undefined

I think too many mat libs in

I think too many mat libs in the same folder can cause it to hang, or maybe the problem was caused by the following (didn't test thoroughly)
It was hanging trying to render VRay thumbs when I was set to Mental Ray (or was it scanline...?) in the render dialog - make sure your renderer is set according to the type of materials you are managing.

Anyone else got the render

Anyone else got the render all button to work or getting errors?

Really like this script,

Really like this script, running into a problem. in max 2009 --Type error:images bitmap requires BitMap, got :undefined
and the render all thumbnails button seems to hang forever and never render

If you press and hold ctrl

If you press and hold ctrl when clicking on the thumbnail to render a thumb you will render "liquid" stuff.

Liquid render
