runtime error

Thanks for the feedback headd,

I was able to track down the bug, and it seems to happen on Windows XP only.

Writing to the Users folder was a last minute change I made due to Max running on Vista and Windows 7 as non-Administrator.

I assumed the change would not affect windows XP users, but it seems it does.

A fix is in the way.

Thank you for your suggestions!

There are certainly a few more features that I would had love to include with this release, but it was becoming a never-ending development, so I decided to release at least what I already had.

I am hoping to release an update soon, which would include a “Generate Report” function as a priority feature.

Regarding your second suggestion "Move uv shells to 0:1 without rescaling them", do you mean to move the selection to the 0,1 position or to just center them but without rescaling?

If you need to center the selection without rescaling, just uncheck the “Fit” checkbox.

cgvinny

Hello cgvinny,

Do you have other plugins in the "3ds Max/plugins/" folder?

Please note that PolyUnwrapper, as it is an scripted utility, it will not appear as a new button in the Utilities Tab.

You need to click on the "MAXScript" button found in the Utilities Tab, and it will show a dropdown menu. From there you can select the different scripted utilities you have installed. PolyUnwrapper should be listed as "PolyUnwrapper v1.0".

Please let me know if this helps.

Thank you!

runtime error

Hey, cool script.

- I copied the script's folder into max plugin one. When loading the script, it gives the error, and then loads and functions normally. The icons don't appear, only text shortcuts.

--Runtime error: Can't load Button images: bitmap: "c:\...max path\scripts\PolyUnwrapper\icons\selection_icons_i.bmp"

PS.

Some additions would be cool:
- Measure the UV shells occupation percent of 0:1 space ( I can provide the script that works on a single object, maybe you can adapt it for multiple objects ) to see how good the packing is.
- Move uv shells to 0:1 without rescaling them
