AST was written to help in working with editable poly objects on architectural models. It replaces 'poly size selector'. It allows selection of polygons by their size - and edges by their length and orientation.

Camera Orbit

This script automatically creates a camera that will orbit the selected objects. The distance of the camera is calcualated based on the size of the selected objects so that they will always fit the screen. This tool is great for creating demo reel renders of models and animations.

As the 3ds max files for the levels in Driving Force gained complexity - eventually adding such things as physics proxies for all items - the sheer number of objects visible at any one time was degrading the performance of 3ds max. Since Driving Force was developed in 3ds max 4 there was no layering system. Selection sets weren't an either or proposition - unfortunately.
