Example for viewport labelsThis macroscript allows you to turn on text labels for specific scene nodes, so you can permanently see the node names in the viewport, even if they currently are not selected. This is for the viewport only (the labels will not render) and the label will follow the bounding box of your nodes, whether you animate them, or change their geometry in any other way.

Vertex to shape

This is a script I did for a co-worker. It takes a vertex selection and turns that into a shape. It is the same as taking an edge loop and converting it to a shape but with less button clicks. Actually that is how it is scripted as well. It takes a vertex selection and converts it to a edge selection and then shrinks it to get the right edge loop. Then it just converts the edge to a shape. Pretty simple but it might help your work flow if you need something like this often enough.

Light meter

This is a script I use to calculate the key to fill ratio of a scene. Pretty simple script right now. I eventually want to be able to just select all the lights in a scene and run the script to get a ratio back, that is when I can find the time. For now you just have to manually pick each light individually. Any feedback would be great.

This came about during a modeling job where the client provided the measurements in different units.
This script was made in Max 2010, but it should work in earlier versions.

This script is very useful for car exterior modelling. It allows you to create really smooth polygonal surface using splines or NURBS curves to control the shape of the surface. Also allows you to control the edge loops of the surface. With this script you have to draw only the borders of the surface you want. Watch the video or the help page for more information!
