Super Detach

You may be used to detach poly or mesh to elements when modeling,so it is easy to detach each element of a polygen. But what about detach each part of a polygen as a reference to another polygen? For example: there is a teapot which is converted to poly or mesh, copy 3 new teapots and attach them as one, then press "Pick object" to pick the first teapot, and press "Detach to element" .What does it appear?

Starting out big.

I've been working as a technical modeller for two months now, after a four year game design education. Speed and low polycount is crucial so, shortcuts are the key.

I've come across one problem, i wish to solve with scripting.

Converting animation constraints, ie look-at-constraint to keyframes.

This is because our in-house exporter and simulator can't handle dummies or that kind of thing.

The way i've been doing it is manually copying and pasting every rotation coordinate for 100 frames. It needs to end! rawr.

V-Ray Irradiance Map Pre Calc

27 votes

This is a script I created to automatically setup your Irradiance Map for V-Ray. Basically you select what camera you want to render from, select what frame range, the path where you want your Irradience Maps to Generate to and the information automatically goes into your Irradiance settings. It will even create the file for you.

This is useful for companies that send many animations via network rendering by saving time in setting up your irradiances.

Obj-Selector of obj without a UVWMap modifier

18 votes

This short script allows the user to automatically select all
objects in a scene that do not have a 'UVW Map' modifier applied to them.
This is useful especially for users who work with imported data from AutoCAD. The imported data contains uvw information, but in most cases the uvw coordinates need an overwork. This script makes it easier to isolate those objects in the scene.

Simply drag and drop the script into your 3ds max viewport after the import process is finished, et voilà.

Obj-Selector of obj without materials

This short script allows the user to automatically select all objects in a scene that do not have a material or do have a 'Global Architectural' material applied to them.
This is useful especially for users who work with imported data from AutoCAD.

Animation Ranger

Animation Ranger

This script intended to simplify changing time range values inside max.

I tried to make it similar to Mayas timeslider.

There are four spinners and two sliders.

At the far right and far left spinners are maximum and minimum values of range.

Other two spinners and two sliders are for zooming in and out to the timeslider.

Copy/Paste transforms

13 votes

Copies the transforms of selected objects to a
buffer and then pastes them onto a new or existing selection.
It has the option to paste the position and/or the
rotation
and can paste it flipped around a world or custom object's
axis.
Handy for mirroring poses or animation rig components.
