This script was developed to break a large image up into tiles and provide selective control of map display. The client had a large (50MB) top view image of a city layout for reference. To display such a large image would be too slow and impractical. By doing the 'TileIt!', small portions of the image can be made active, thus keeping memory requirements and hence viewport interaction reasonable while maintaining sufficient resolution for development.
Put bitmap in MAX ..\Scripts
Put TileIt!.ms and SMIV.ms in MAX ..\Scripts
Put avg_dlx.dlx in MAX ..\Plugins
Put TileIt!RCMenu.ms in MAX ..\Scripts\Startup (not required)
