This script is intended to align objects with a given spacing. You can randomnize position and scale and choose between object center or object base, you can also align to min and max, this is especially useful for randomizing books on shelves or any similar task like populating supermarket shelves or if you have to evenly space objects.

XFormer is a tool that will allow you recover the transformation of an object.

Some scenarios where you might want to restore an object transformation could be:

  • After a model transformation matrix was reset (Reset XForm)
  • If you have detached part of an object as another object
  • If you import a model and it is not aligned as you would expect

Pivot & Align Tools

Pivot & Align Tools (PAT) are a set of macros bundled into a quad menu that allow you to perform various object alignment, pivot alignment and object snapping functions... among others. Most of the functions can operate on a selection of multiple objects at once, including grouped objects as part of the selection (open or closed).


NOTE: This script was written for 3dsmax prior to 2025 which introduced a new menu system. This will be rectified in future updates.

it Works with [Poly/Mesh/Shapes].

Install: Drag and drop the downloaded mzp file to 3dsmax viewport or from Scripting Menu/Run Script. after that you can find it in _My Sceripts_ Category, you can add it to quad menu or toolbar or assign shortcut to it.

  • By 2 Points each vertex will be aligned depending on its segment direction.

  • By 4 Points - the first 2 Points will determine the direction.

  • with Alt Execute the vertex will be aligned perpendicularly.
