removeMissingPlugins

This is a small script for completely removing all references to missing plugins from your 3ds Max scene.

Use with care (!) and do not save the results under the same file name!

The script will replace any missing plugin object with the first usable alternative object of the same class it can find. I cannot give any guarantees this will not mess up your data, your machine or your live.

gizmoControl

This macroscript (to be found in the "MB Tools" category after executing the .mcr) will allow you to link the transformation of a modifier gizmo to some other scene object. Afterwards, the gizmo will always be fully aligned to that other scene object, which can be freely animated by any kind of controller and linked to any other scene node. In some way this is very similar to World Space Modifiers but it works for any kind of modifier gizmo.

This tool can be very useful for creating complex modifier animations, for example animating a Slice modifier's plane along a path, attaching a UVW Map modfier to some animated helper object, transforming a Displace modifier with some other object, or having an extra node control the- symmety plane of a Symmetry modifier.

Delete Modifier Utility

This small utility allows to delete any modifier in a selection. First, it captures the modifiers in the selection. The group of selected objects can be of different types (geometry, shape...). Then select which modifier you want to delete and click on "delete".

LOD Creator

Here's my version of LOD creation script, it uses multiRes modifier. It works on multiple geometry and retains the geo type. It retains the skin modifier too, so you can run on a skinned character as well. Feel free to use this script and lemme know if you want me to add any feature to it or if it has any bugs.

FumeFx FreezeFrame

FumeFx FreezeFrame is a very simple script for work with “still simulation” like clouds, nebula, ecc...The script have only 2 buttons:

-Freeze/unfreeze button: to set the out-of-range type to work statically
-Frame spinner: set the simulation frame(useful in lookdev step)

Outline Creator

Outline Creator is a 3ds max script that will automate the process of creating outlines for shapes instead of doing it manually one by one.

Pay attention that this script only works with closed shapes for the time being.

Properties:

Animation Trajectory Volume

This script helps you create an aproximate mesh that covers the animated object (transforming or deforming) through the animation range.

It can come in handy:

-When trying to build an environment around your animatedcharacter for example.

-or to see how your animation flows instead of using the normal line trajectory.

-also to know the dimention that our charachter are moving in to build FumeFX container or other fx stuff.

It's based on Blob mesh so:

Manipulates the display of all point helpers in your selection en masse.

 

 

GTVFX-UTL_getDistanceInUnits

 

Gets the distance between two objects. Returns the value in your current System units. 

Automatically copies the value to your clipboard so you could, for example, past that distance value into your ZDepth distance.
