A tool for tuning the color mapping in V-ray. The script renders only once. After that it works like post effect so you have interactive update of the scene without need to render again. Works ONLY with linear color mapping, exponential and reinhard (not 100% correct)

1.43 Update:

  • Added "render" button, the script won't render at startup
  • Added option "show vfb"
  • Added option "Optimize render"

1.41 Update:

  • Working with 32bit floating point bitmaps
  • Reinhard color mapping added (not 100% correct)
  • Gamma correction added
  • Some code fixed
  • added sRGB button - just like VFBs sRGB button
  • progress bar when rendering at the beginning
Additional Info:

Install: Just drag-and-drop the file in 3dsmax
Category: "Blago script"

Version Requirement:
3ds Max 2008

Well, i thought that the problem/bug was in max so restart should solve it.

Hi :) "1. how about if

Hi :)
"1. how about if activate the rendering progress via button."
- ok, probably will be better :)

"2. how bout show the render progress and have some cancel button, so we can cancel the rendering progress, in case if I do remember some setting in our scene is not correct and need to be tweaked, how to cancel the rendering progress?! maybe use some ESC pressed will do a good thing !"

- At the moment the rendering progress is shown in the status bar (this is the option of the render fn - the only way i know) and the rendering can be canceled by pressing ESC.
But i will add an option to turn on the vfb next to the render button :)

About the errors -
I am not sure if i understand you but the new render should look like the right image shown in the script, after you press "Send Values" or "OK" , before that the render will look like the left image.(the only thing is that if you are working in LWF /w gamma display i.e. using max's Gamma/LUT correction, and the script is running, when you render(the script is still opened) you will see max's Frame Buffer with the gamma correction applied.)
About the rendering times - did you try to restart max.

Hey Blagoy Kostov : I want

Hey Blagoy Kostov : I want to give you some error reprt and suggestion, I've already using your script for a while, so here is my suggest :

1. how about if activate the rendering progress via button.
2. how bout show the render progress and have some cancel button, so we can cancel the rendering progress, in case if I do remember some setting in our scene is not correct and need to be tweaked, how to cancel the rendering progress?! maybe use some ESC pressed will do a good thing !

Error reporting :
1. don't know if this is only working mine or not, but suppose to be if we render new render, it should reset the previous render image to normal (blank image I think)! not display the previous image render!
2. same scene, same light no tweaking the renderer, the second rendering progress is more take time than the first,
in my case, the rendering progress time in the first only take 35min and the second take almost 2 hours!

and the third :

Thank for this great script!
