Grab Hierarchy

11/12/2009 Selecting whole heirarchy by picking one belonging object.
Similar to Sergo's "Pick Hierarchy" script but simplified code.
Additional Info:
Use CTRL & ALT keys to add/remove objects to/from current selection.
Right mouse click to stop picking mode.

Also can use Siblings, more details in the main help (F1):
Autodesk 3ds Max Help > Animation > Hierarchies and Kinematics > Hierarchies > Viewing and Selecting Hierarchies
And for branch childs - just double click your "root" node.

One more request.
It would be useful if it was possible to select not the whole hierarchy by picking one belonging object, but just a branch from a specified number of levels up.
I tried to modify your script, but failed miserably.

would it be possible to add an option to only select the children of the selected object? possibly by using SHIFT?
