Bitmap Tracking / Resizing... is tool similar to Asset Tracking. But it gives more possibility to work with bitmaps:

- Support for All Assets now
- Sort files by name, image width, height, file size, path, gamma, texture name, status (Found - network, Found -  local, Not found)
- Resize to JPG selected bitmaps to specified size or to Nearest Power of 2
    - can be used to resize and repath selected bitmaps (by size) before sending to external renderfarm,
    - resize bitmaps in large animation sceens to reduce memory ussage,
- Convert... see below
- Change / Rename paths (with paths history and rename path prefix eg. change only server/drive letter)
      * Choose path from history or scene paths
      * Pick new path
      * Rename paths beginng ( drive letter or paths C:\sample\abc\ and rename them to Z:\3d\sample\abc\ )
      * Find and Replace part of paths - supports Regular Extension
- Multi-threaded Auto-Relink with progress dialog

Oki,
Take a look on UI of Rename files on HDD. It's coming with preview to compare old with new filename.
What you think about options? Is it clear? Any more suggestions ?

Thats just UI, I'll try to find a time and finish it till end of next week.

Hi, maybe similar to other renaming scripts it would be good to have the options for custom prefix/suffixes as well as the option to have an incremental number added? Your new script sounds great! ill definitely take a look!

Let me know what kind of auto renaming structure you want to use when you select multiple files?
Or just base name + suffix eg: name_001.jpg, name_002.jpg etc or more advanced ?

And check my new Library Track/Relink script. I'm just posting it now. It will wait for approval now.
It will be similar to Bitmap Tracking/Resizing but for multiple Max files at once, to Re-path,Rename, Relink assets for whole library Max files, without opening it in max.

Should it copy image file with new name (to keep original file) or just rename old one and replace scene/maxfiles paths ?

For resizing, I just need to add dialog window with more options (so there can be new aspect ratio too)

Sorry it is confusing now i read it back haha.

Yes renaming the jpeg on the HDD from within Max and having max replace the references to the old name with the new name, so that you can rename your maps without having to reload them all individually.

As for the resizing, ive found that if you resize a map that isnt square (for example a banner) if you need to edit the texture its very hard because all the details become squashed if it isnt a square texture. So essentially the aspect ratio of the image yes.

Its a great script by the way, you seem very proactive in keeping it updated!

I didn't understand everything.
Did you mean to rename image file on the HDD (to the same or new folder), or convert to jpg with new names ?

But also if you want to repath whole models library it will be better to do it without opening max, just by changing paths in max file. There should be other script for that I think.

And by your second question to resize with 2 values. Did you mean to change aspect ratio ? Or just to resize if height bigger then 256 or and width than 512 ?
For now script resize if finds that height or width of selected is bigger then specified value.

Also the ability to specify resize dimensions for textures that arent required in power of 2 values. id like to be able to resize banners and stuff to 256x512 to retain their editability in photoshop etc once they have been resized. Just a thought :)
