Blueprint Manager - create reference image planes for modeling in 3ds Max
Blueprint Manager script allows you to automatically set up and manage
reference image planes from a set of blueprints.
Blueprint Manager is a MAXScript which automatically creates a set of mapped planes from a series of blueprint images, sets their object properties to non renderable, backface culling on, and show frozen in gray off, and places them in proper position.
Blueprint Manager will give proper results only when the reference images are matching in size(for example the width of the top view must match the width of the front and rear images and the length of the top view must match the length of the side images) and there are no borders or margins around the blueprint linework. Check the image below for a set of properly sized and cropped images:
The final script is freely available on my website and can be downloaded from the 3ds Max Tools page at:

The script was written for a video tutorial series on MaxScript that can be seen here:

New feature - keep the plane and update it
Anton, great script, thank you!!!!
I need this proposed feature so please see if you can update the script: the option to interactively update the plane (not creating new one each time) when loading new image would be amazing and highly appreciated. For example, i already have created plane (no matter if it's top, left, ...) , so what i need is to keep using the same plane but with new map (new loaded map updates the dimesions (aspect) of updated plane).
Thank you very much!
This is amazing and I love
