User InterfaceClick Clone v1.0.ms

Create clones of an object on the surface of another simply with a click of the mouse.

Additional Info: 

Be able to place clones (copies, instances
references) of an object on the surface of
another (editable mesh) at cursor position
simply with a click of the mouse.

This is the first version of this script, and
so may not work with all types of objects
- ie. lights, cameras, helpers etc.

Installation
----------

Each Maxscript comes zipped, along with
a manual .txt file, and any .jpgs required.

To install the script;-
1) Download the file (follow link).
2) Unzip the file and copy the content to
your Scripts folder for 3dsMax (version 8
or higher).

That's it, you're good to go!

Cool. I've been playing

Cool.
I've been playing around with Unreal Ed. recently and think it would be neat to be able to paint mesh onto the surface of another object - trees onto ground for example. Having it driven by a grey scale/alpha map as they do there....

So i might look into trying to make something for max like this over the winter evenings.

Looks like 1acc might have beaten me to it though.

His SuperPainter listed here sounds like it does something very similar. Have to check it out.
