Conformist
Conformist is a maxscript that allows you to conform a low poly mesh onto a high poly mesh nearly perfectly. Currently it offers 3 different methods (Inwards projection, outwards projection or both).
In addition to that, if you already have UVs set up for your low poly mesh, to combat distortion the conforming process will bring, the dialog windows also offers uv relaxing and repacking, with a wide variety of options.
Future plans:
- Relax over mesh surface
- Spline conforming
- volumetric conform (have a mesh with volume follow the surface of another. Ideal for armor pieces, roads, etc)
- And more
Install instructions:
Drag and drop .mzp file into 3ds max.
I'd like to thank renderhjs from TexTools, their install.ms script was helpful as a guide :)

Spline conform
Hi. I was wondering if you will be releasing the spline conform tool soon? I haven't found one that just creates a smooth path to be used for path constraint. I.E. for a vehicles etc.
What would be useful is to be able to draw a spline over a terrain mesh without having to to create, manually, all the verticies when completing the entire spline. If you could add a spinner that allows to select the number of verticies or the script can calculate that automatically, would be very helpful and time saving. That way you would get a smooth trajectrory path over any complex terrain. Like a Z projection thang.
I have the mesh conform and it works great. Thanks
Cheers

Excellent Tool!
Thanks Hans for sharing your work with the community!
This does a wonderful job of conforming meshes, and excels where the 3DS Max conforms fails. I will definitely be using it a lot!
Also the script is well written with useful comments, and even runs in 3DS Max 9 which is awesome!
10+ Stars!
