"Here's a script to allow an object to follow the contours/etc. of another object. It's called 'Follow_Surface' and it will enable you to have an object follow a surface even if the surface is animated. You can also follow the surface with a time delay (like a buoy does when it's floating on water)."

Amazing but..

This script is amazing, exectly what I need but I don't know why when I use it the objects rotate 180 degree on z axis as you can see in the attached image. There is something to change into the script?
Someone can tell me how to fix it?

so much better

Since the conform spacewarp is such a lame duck and building a rotational spring with points, constraints and spring controllers is tedious and has bad performance, too, this is really a great script! The only thing i miss from conform WSM is the possibility to change projection direction with the control dummy. Would it be possible to implement that without ruining the performance?

Thank you!

Shawn, thanks for script!
But, I have one question: HOW make that object move only Z axis and not rotate?
For example, I want it use on car's wheel.

if i understand correctly you

if i understand correctly you want to control rotation of the object by yourself (or helper) there is an easy way to achieve this by removig rotation script expression and replacing it by euler xyz and link it anyway you want or by your own script to control rotation

Thx !!!

This is a really good script, thank you!

Here's a suggestion for improvement : There should be an intermediate parent in order to keep control of rotation of the object. As if we apply the script on a point and that we attach the object to this point.
