This script can paint the “Vertex Colors” and "Alpha vertex" randomly.

Version 1.1
Install:

This is a Macro script just drag and drop in viewport and go to “customize user interface” and look in “Category:MMtools”

Description and method of use:

“Selected Colors”
It uses two colors as a reference for random values. ( Min and Max)
Click in square color box to select the color or can paste (RMB) the color.
Option “use Alpha” can select alpha channel. I think this is never used (is available you never know.)
Option “Only gray”  allows you to select only gray colors. (useful to paint vertex alpha)

“Random Color Channel”
Select the color model channels to apply (RGB or HSV)

“Random channels”
choose the color channels will random

“Vertex Channel”
Select the channel  to paint (Color, illumination or Alpha)

Option “display” display vertice  color in Viewport
Option  “shaded ” display vertice shaded in Viewport

This options is the same in object properties.

"Random Color by:" choose the way the colors will be applied

Object: The same color is applied to all vertices of each selected object
Element: The same color is applied to all vertices of each Element of each selected object
Face: The same color is applied to all vertices of each Face of each selected object
Vertex: A diferent color is applied to all vertices of each  selected object.

Note:  For now only works  with Editable-poly.
