Making sure I have what you're saying correctly, I should add in a edit text field (allowing number entry) so you could type maybe "0.01" units with a "50%" error each way and press the button and it would select all faces between 0.005 and .015? Is that correct?

Could you add area parameter to select faces based not only on the already selected faces but giving area in absolute units? This will be handy for searching null- or small-area polygons.
