smoothHiddenLineWireframe is a scripted display toggle that switches between shaded, hidden line and wireframe.

Additional Info:

Download the script and add it to your 3ds Max 9/UI/macroscripts directory. Restart and you should see smoothHiddenLineWireframe under 'MC Tools'
