3DS Max Multi/Sub-Object Material Browser Script

When dealing with various bitmaps to be applied on multiple objects (i.e large video walls), this script comes really handy. The purpose is to scroll through the Multi/Sub-Object Material diffuse bitmaps and apply on one or several objects.

    3DS Max Multi/Sub-Object Material Browser Script v0.9a

  • (1) Open MaterialEditor Slots list.
  • (2) Toggle Float Mode On/Off.
  • (3) About.
  • (4) Display selected object's name.*
  • (5) Display selected object's material.*
  • (6) Refresh preview.
  • (7) Scroll sub-materials.
  • (8) Preview sub-material. If clicked with list preview [A]ctived (belowpic (2)), the selected material and the current MaterialID will be applied, otherwise, only the MaterialID will be applied.*
  • (9) Display current sub-material number.
  • *If more than one object is selected then the first available material in the selection will be displayed.

    • (1) MaterialEditor Slots list.
    • (2) Activate preview mode for selected material in (1).
    • (3) Add Material modifier to selection.
    • (4) Allow multiple material to be applied to faces in one object.
    • (5) Apply material to selection.
    • (6) Refresh list.
    • (7) Re-arrange MaterialIDs.
    • (8) Add Material modifier to selection.
    • (9) Remove Material modifier to selection.*

    How to use ver 0.8.5:

  • Select an object.
  • Option 1 :
  • Apply Multi/Sub-Object Material.
  • Add [Material] modifier.
  • Option 2 :
  • Open Material Editor Slots list.
  • Select material and apply.
  • [Material] modifier is automatically applied.
  • Preview will update.
  • Scroll by clicking the arrows on the side of thumbnail.
  • Click on the thumbnail to apply on selected object(s).

    Thank you for your feedback. The undo feature wasn't stable in the first version.
    The next update will bring additional features and better performance.

    its great to know that they have resolve many cons with this latest version and specially the "Undo" option. it caused me a lot of problems earlier.
