This is definitely a special needs tool. It's not one that would be needed very often, but when it's needed it saves hours of time.
Takes a collection of nodes parented to a master CTRL and populates them to the transform of a selected group of nodes.
This works well for laying out environments. As an example you can use point helper objects to layout your vegetation very quickly and then use this tool to polulate your plant assets to those point helpers. I originally wrote it to populate a Knight asset into an army formation.
To install just drag the download .MZP file into the 3dsmax interface. You should get an Install dialog.
This tool will install a macroscript that can be accessed from the Customize User Interface dialog within 3dsmax.
