0.04a Similar to the CAT Muscle Strand object, only mesh-based and accepts modifiers.

Installation:
Copy the .ms file to your scripts\startup folder or run as a script if you only want to try it out. The object primitive will be available under Examples in the Create panel.

Jerny: You're, I might rework it to make that possible. In the meantime you could try using position constraint instead of link (for the tangents, you can use position constraint to two object and set the weight between them to get the desired tangent length).
