Viewport snap scripts snaps to the orthographic viewport that's closest to the current orthographic, perspective or camera view. It also frames current selection to fit into new view. If viewport that is snaps to is closest to the bottom or top orthographic views script will also try to detect the orientation of the current view and orient new view correctly.

This script is meant to replace repetitive task of switching to the top, side, bottom etc. views while modeling.

Hope you enjoy it. Please let me know if there are any bugs or crashes, it was tested in Max 2015 and it works fine. I usually map this to the V key. Just drag and drop it into your Max and you will be able to find it under Category: 00_Work_Scripts.

Thanks,
Toni

Wasn't aware of that other

Wasn't aware of that other script. But it looks like he is only switching to the closest ortho viewport without respecting camera orientation. My very 1st version did that exactly but not as optimized though.

What Max version are you

What Max version are you using, I tested it only in Max 2015. For the top and bottom view I am not switching to those views directly since I am also trying to figure out the orientation of the camera.

Thanks!

Very smart script! Great idea, but Top and Bottom view not working - it switches to perspective instead.
