Make Planar Advanced

Make Planar Advanced works like this:
Select one or more objects/components and generate a projection plane from them. After that you can move/project any selected objects/components to that plane, either directly or in specific coordinate modes / axis. Basically the point is to give a lot more freedom in how you flatten a surface compared to what's possible with the standard 'Make Planar' or scale to zero features already in Max.

Script i wrote to automate one of tasks i spent too much time on:
Automatic LOD creation, with customisable reduction percentages and nice naming sheme.

Any feedback / suggestions are welcome.

After running this script, you can find it under category _Piro_Tools, with name makeLODs 0.3.

makeStylizedDNA

makeStylizedDNA.ms is a 3DS Maxscript written because I needed a model of stylized DNA. Given an arbitrary string of G,T,A, and C, it creates a model of that DNA sequence.

This Alpha 0.1 version has no interface (you need to edit the variable DNAstring below if you want anything different), and there is a bug the last base is not recognized (that is why it's black).

Map Loader

1. Run script

2. In Max goto "Customize->Customize User Interface...->Toolbars
tab->Category: ColinScripts->Map Loader
" and drag "Map Loader" to a toolbar, click to run.

 

Loads maps into the material editor that exist in the scene.  Very straightforward. Support for special Mental Ray Maps and VRay Maps included.

 

Mass Randomizer

This is an updated version of Arda Kutlu's script "Mass randomizer",
it can now handle groups, you can also select a random amount of sub-object elements.

update 2.0.2 : as requested by dmitry belonosov, you can now shuffle objects position, there is a new button in the position tab.
I didn't add group support for this function, i'll do it in next update...

I made a Material Convert that converts Arch & Design materials to Vraymtl. I created this in my free time so its a BETA script. For now M-Converter only converts Arch & Design materials to Vraymtl. I hope you guys like this script.
