I am working now over a complex tool to create retail shops from shop front line. Just draw a line of shopping gallery and create out of it a random retail shops with one click. it creates one shop on one spline segment, randomizes inshop light texture and shopfront textures.

SmartScripts Attach/Detach

I am releasing these two small macroscripts i wrote to simplify my own workflow in 3dsmax.

they are inspired by the universal attach/detach macros made by Nik and feature much of the same functionality in addition to some extra ones. but code-wise they are complete rewrites.

SmartAttach MacroScript:
With single object selected does this:
-Disable any Turbosmooth/MeshSmooth/OpenSubDiv modifier(s) that are on top of the topmost "Edit modifier"
-Start attach mode

MCG CloneSplines

This MCG allows you to clone splines, open or closed. There's various offsets like scale and translation.

Tool can be found in Shapes Creation Panel>Max Creation Graph>Vu_CloneSpls

Ver 1.01: fixed noob error, Div by 0. Modulator minimum now is 0.001

Simple multi-point spline approximating the shape of the catenary curve (the shape formed by a hanging rope). Allows for driving the point positions by scene objects, controlling the slack by absolute sag amount or relative to the length of the line between points, randomization of the slack and other options:

Helix with Bezier Handles

Just like the regular helix only with four bezier handles per turn (or more if you would like - you can control that with the Steps spinner) instead of 40 corner-points of the default Helix shape.

Load UVW channel map

I've seen a lot of issues with scripting the saving and loading of UVW data via script. I ran into a problem like that myself and throught I'd share my solution. Basically the loading and saving of UVW maps is not exposed fully via script, only the dialog opens, so you need to fake inserting the file path and hit the load button.
