Ultimate Painter

The result of two days of experiments around MouseTools.

You can use it to paint and distribute objects (copy or instances) on the grid or on surfaces. With Random controls, collisions detection, attachment surface...
You can paint all the max objects (geometries, helpers, proxies...)

open/close all/selected groups

This macro-script is meant to use as a shortcut. It can open or close all or all selected groups in the scene.
I use "STRG + SHIFT + G" to open all groups and "STRG + G" to close all groups but you can change it to whatever you prefer.

 

Parametric Cabinet

Plugin for 3ds max. Under development.

The plug-in allow user to make a parametric cabinet with many options to change. Include load and save from/to library.

I would appreciate help in the English translation of the user interface.(Words techniques of carpentry)

Install notes:

Unzip the downloaded file
Put the file contents in the folder: \ Scripts \ Startup (usually in C: \ Program Files \ Autodesk \ 3ds Max Design 2014 \ Scripts \ Startup)
Start 3ds max
You can locate the plug-in in: Geometry under the category Furniture

Wireframe Simple Render

Wireframe Render Version 3.0

This script simple takes the max scene and renders wireframe, in either black or white. It does not alter your scene in anyway. Your scene will remain untouched with all of its settings and materials.

Script for artistic fragmenting and flexible control of cutter object.

Random UVW GizmoTM

With this tool is very easy to control UVWMap modifier gizmo transform using
non - incremental randomization process. It means every position rotation or size
offset changes always start from geometry center but not from actual gizmo center.
This tool also use random values from user input but not ranges from one value to another.

waRp Poly

This script converts all selected objects to editable poly, Clears the smoothing groups and adds a gray material.

waRp ConvertDummy

This script converts all Dummies (into containers) in the scene that have objects parented to them.

It is useful when importing a scene from Maya (pressing the option Send to 3ds Max automatically converts the groups from maya to Dummies into 3ds max).

waRp SelectByMaterial

Selects all objects that have a same chosen material.
Usage: Open Material Editor and select a material (that is in the scene). Then run the script.
Note: 3ds max already has this functionality (right click on a material in the material editor and choose Select By Material), but you have to go through the Select Objects window.

waRp Slate

Inserts into Material Editor sets of 24 SCENE materials.
If there are more than 24 materials in the scene you can choose, which set of 24 you want to load to the Material Editor (slate number one means get the first 24 scene materials, set number two means get the second set of 24 materials and so on).

waRp Mirror

-- It solves the problem with flipped faces (problem that can't be fixed just with resetXform) that happens by using the default mirror tool on objects that are in a container.
-- It mirrors along the pivot point of the topmost container (in the chosen axis). If there is no container then it mirrors along the first object in the selection.
-- Flip UVs, mirrors the UVs of all selected objects to compensate for the mirrored objects.
-- Copy Materials, makes an identical COPY of the same material as the original counterpart of each mirrored object.

waRp Ngons

Finds and isolates a selection of objects that have Ngons (polygons that have 3 or more than 4 sides).
All the Ngons are then marked yellow (with multimaterial), to be easier to spot.

Usage: make a selection of objects (only objects that have an editable poly base are supported) and run the script

waRp removeTurbo

A simple script that removes the turbosmooth modifier (if present in the modifier stack) from all selected objects.

Extract Normal Data in Photoshop

This is a photoshop action. It will take an opened normal map (be it a texture or a rendered normal map from your render) and extract the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom data for use in re-lighting a render. The intended use is for using a normal map pass along with the rgb rendered image to re-light or tweak an image using the normal map data pass.

Function Sculptor

zOffset = x^2-y^2

Function Sculptor is a scripted plugin that deforms meshes, polys or splines according to an arbitrary, user-input function. This allows easy creation of an endless variety of smooth, precisely curved surfaces. It also enables the mathematically precise curving of splines for extrusions, path-deforms and lofts.

It uses the world-x, y, and z coordinates of points to displace those points in world-z.

PSD_to_3DS

PSD_to_3DS allows you to texture objects and create textured planes directly from Adobe Photoshop.
