Populate:Terrain assists in creating and optimizing terrain surfaces from contour lines or from existing meshes. The quad based output allows for easier later remodeling, for example using push/pull painting. The regular face size reduces rendering issues (GI, displacement) and you can use Turbosmooth on it.

Save & Restore Views

5 votes

A simple script that is pretty similar to max's own "Save active perspective view" and "Restore active perspective view" functionality just that there are 5 slots with preview images. Un-comment the first 2 lines to install it as a macroscript. Click the little lock symbol to save a view, click the image button to restore it.

TurboReverse is a 3ds Max modifier that has the opposite effect of TurboSmooth. It will recreate the subdivision levels of an already subdivided mesh with 100% precision maintaining the existing UVs. Get it from http://www.mariussilaghi.com/products/turboreverse

Useful utility if you need extra image margins for your renderings - it adjusts your camera and render settings so that your old image will be part of the new rendering without changing perspective - just like changing Canvas Size in Photoshop - but in 3D.

Render different types of masks (Luminance, RGB, Reflection, Lights/Shadows, ObjectsID, SSS, Texture, AO, ZDepth, Specular, Refraction). The script don't affect the scene materials, lights and render settings. Support "FumeFX" and "HairFarm".

Align Objects To Direction (vector)

2 votes

Align Objects To Direction allows you to align the X, Y or Z axis of each of the selected objects to the direction(vector), defined by two picked in the scene points. SNAP will be turned ON automatically.

Noors Simple Average Normals

This is a simple script similar to Zoffty and Anubis average normals scripts.

At some point I think they used to work for me but i can't remember how !

This it not like ByteHazard face weighted normals ! This script doesnt look for the face area influence hence it's not fully automatic. In fact i scripted this before discovering ByteHazard script, but anyway, somebody may find it useful.
