The outdoor areas in Driving Force required extremely large numbers of trees to be added to the terrain. Hand placing hundreds of external references in 3ds max wasn't considered viable. LSGardener was created - based off of Blur Studios' simple scatter script with Neil Blevin's blessing - to facilitate the random scattering - scaling - rotation - and planting of the tree objects.

This script contains an Affect Pivot - and a Center Pivot. It works similar to Maya's Affect Pivot. You need to assign it to a hotkey - or put it in a Quad Menu. Once you have executed Affect Pivot - click anywhere you want the pivot point to be located. TIP: Works great with snaps. Center Pivot does just that. It also works with multiple selections.
DeformByProjecting is a scripted utility for 3dsmax that allows deform one or more objects by projecting mesh verticies on the surface of another object (preform). The basic idea is similar to Conform (Compound Object), but functionality DeformByProjecting utility has differences and features:
